Drawing limits

I am trying to set the area of my work area. I type in limits and hit enter at the <0,0> and hit enter at<12,9>. I run my cursor to the top right and expect to see 12,9 at the coordinate display but instead see 60,30. If the goal is to get a work area of 12"x 9" how do I set the limits.

Hi,

After setting the limits use ZOOM command with Extents option and you will get work area you want.

Only if there are no entities in the drawing

Zoom All will
+ zoom to the limits if there are no entities (same as ZE).
+ zoom to the limits if there are entities that fall within the limits.
+ zoom to the extents of the entities and/or the limits if there are entities that fall outside the limits.

Also OP, make sure the limits are turned ON.
