Fatal Error : Problems setting up current profile

Hello,

I've re-posted this here on a suggestion from the LT forum as it is a mac install...

I am trying to install Autocad LT 2018 on a Macbook pro laptop and receive the above error when launching it for the first time. I installed it on a MacBook Air at the same time with the same package and that installation works perfectly.

I've tried doing a clean uninstall following the installation using the Remove link in the applications folder and have also tried downloading a fresh package, but all to no avail.

The user in question is an administrator on his laptop.

Both laptops are also running Fusion 360 which works on both with no problems, but could the problem be something to do with the Autodesk profile?

Hi Edward,

Have you passed activation stage? Did you migrate settings from previous AutoCAD (2017 LT) during installation?
Can you post screenshot of the alert?

Thanks for the reply.

I can't post a screenshot of the error as I don't have access to the laptop at the moment (I am an IT technician in a school and the offending laptop is a teacher's).

I hadn't reached the activation stage, the message appears a few seconds after clicking the icon to open it and is just that, a box containing the message above.

It is a clean install of Autocad LT 2018, no previous version was on the laptop, the only other Autodesk software being Fusion 360 which works perfectly.

Hi Maxim,

Yes, thanks, the Autodesk advisors sent me that link, that's how I did the
clean uninstall.

I'll give it another go.

Hello, I am having the same problem with a M1 MacBook Pro. Try to uninstall and re-install and keeps happening the same Error. Any other solutions? Thank you.

Hi @ritalpalma ,

This topic is rather old, so please give more details about your problem:

- AutoCAD version you are trying to install

- macOS version you have on your Mac.

Have you tried Clean Uninstall or just uninstall with "Remove AutoCAD.app"?

Have you tried to create new Admin account on your Mac, login to this new account and launch AutoCAD?
