Select an annotation object or

I've entered some mode or done something so that every few clicks I do return my cursor to the "Select an annotation object or" mode. It keeps coming up and I've never experienced this before. I've never even used that command, I don't get why it's coming up. It's killing me. Help.

Hi,

Do you have this problem in all of your drawings?
Have you tried to restart AutoCAD? - Use QUIT command to close AutoCAD completely.
What prompts do you see in the Command window before that one you showed in your post?

Can you walk us through a command sequence example? You know, how can we retrace your steps exactly.
What is your AutoCAD version? What is your MacOS version?

TEXTEDIT command starts for some reason. Does it start even if you don't touch anything in AutoCAD?

Autocad product version N.49.M.324

OSX High Sierra 10.13.3

Basically it just pops up constantly. If I select a text module then unselect it it pops up about have the time. It's like it's set as a default mode.

What is the command sequence for that? I thought maybe it was something weird my mouse was doing but I've replaced my mouse with another and that still happens. It's the kind of thing that feels like there's a key on my keyboard half stuck or something.

You might be double-clicking on it instead: so this only happens when you touch text objects, never anything else?

TEXTEDIT command is what you appear to be launching with a double-click.

I wonder, just wonder, if you need to change the setting for PICKFIRST variable (look it up in HELP): what do you have it set to now?

Can you verify also if you turned on some of the accessibility options for Mouse and Keyboard in the Accessibility pane of macOS System Preferences:

I believe I resolved it by typing TEXTEDIT and then entering 1, rather than 0.

TEXTEDIT is AutoCAD command and you cannot change it from 0 to 1. Maybe you changed TEXTEDITMODE System Variable, which controls whether the TEXTEDIT command repeats automatically?

Sure, that must've been it. I was in a text editing mode apparently.
