I am looking at possibly getting a MAC for work. My main question, are MAC autocad files compatible with PC autocad files?

Paige

Hello @Anonymous,

The files have no difference, but Autocad on Mac is very different in appearance and customization options. They work optimally on both operating systems in terms of command execution, selection, editing, etc.

But, if you are a user who personalizes their icons, shortcuts, clicks, macros and even the mouse, Mac will present limitations since they do not contain all the tools and customization options, AutoCAD arrived relatively recently to this platform.

However (although it is not ideal) you can have an external hard drive with Windows as operating system and boot from it to use from there AutoCAD if necessary.

Regards,
