Transparency on white solid hatch not working right - Autocad mac 2018

Hi there,

I have been using AutoCAD for 5 years and this is the first time I see this kind of bug. The thing is that I decrease the opacity of some white solid hatches in order to give the sensation of depth, or looking through a glass in my architectural sections. And until AutoCAD 2017 it worked fine.

But, in the new release, it seems like there is something wrong, because meanwhile in the layout view the transparent white solid hatch looks good, but when I plot into pdf the colors turn from white to black.

Any help would be perfect.

Hi Daniel,

Have not seen such issue on my side.
The screenshots say nothing about the drawing itself, so it seems impossible to answer your question by only looking at the screenshots.
Can you share your drawing here?

Hi and thanks,

I let you the section without plans for speeding this up. The names of the layers used in the section are all started by 01_ so you have a dynamic folder for situating. Also, the layer which contains the solid hatches is 01_Glass Hatch problematic!! so, easy to find. And you only have one layout called "sección" where you have all the styles.

Hi again,

I found a not-so-proper solution, that is to turn the hatch from a flat white solid into a gradient from white to white, this way when I plot it gives this effect of glaze that I like.

Seeing that with the gradient works... I think that is a bug in the new release. If you find another cleverer way to get it, please tell me.

I do see the difference in the way this behaves between 2017 and 2018 versions.

Please let me do some research on this so i can see if there is an explanation for the change. I am glad that you have found the gradient to work as an alternative for the time being.

Hi Daniel,

I also see the difference between PDF output in 2017 and 2018 versions. I think that is because new PDF engine was introduced in 2018 version.

I also have found another (simpler) "workaround": set viewport override for the color of the layer in question to color #255:

Then everything seems OK with PDF in 2018 version.
