Hello - I have a Very weird problem id be very grateful to have solved! And really sorry if i've posted this in the wrong place.

Basically when using Autocad certain parts of my screen become dead/ inactive. It happens most often down by the Model / Layout part of the screen - I click and nothing happens. until I move the entire window to the right hand side of the screen - then click them and it will work.

This sometimes just happens on random parts of the modeling window too.

Or I click and it activates the Print function of autocad, Even though I might have just clicked somewhere on the main screen to draw a line.

This can happen even through other applications, so - I could be trying to click on an email link, and it will see right through that and activate the same autocad print function, even though im not currently using autocad (but it is open)

This is really frustrating as you can imagine. I cant seem to find anyone with the same issue as me either.

Thanks in advance !

Hey @Anonymous ,

What kind of processor and RAM specs are you having?

Try turning your hardware acceleration off. _GRAPHICSCONFIG then turn off hardware acceleration. If you using windows you can also switch to windows basic theme, so that your system isn't slowed down.

Hi Thanks for the reply -

I'm using a Mac, with a 2.7ghz Intel core i5

Turning that off doesn't seem to make any difference i'm afraid. it never used to happen. and i'm only doing line drawings.

That is way above the minimum required for running AutoCAD.

Not sure where the exact problem may be, but possible likelihood would be;

Corrupt drawing file.

Corrupt AutoCAD profile.

Corrupt installation of AutoCAD

Try AUDIT & RECOVER, see if this fixes your issue.

This happens to me as well, but only on a 4K monitor... I switched back to my previous monitor and the problem went away. I am curious if anyone on here has a real solution for this issue.

I think my mac does have a dual graphics systems - Switching automatically
for demanding tasks.
it lists

Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB as the main card.

At the moment my computer is only giving me the dead screen on the autocad
window. its not bleeding through to other apps. so clicking the same part
of the screen in a new user window and on any other app is actually working
fine this morning (it doesn't always) but it is affecting my pinch zoom
ability now in the main autocad window. - again if i shift the window to
the right a few inches it starts to work.
