Layer Line type Scale.

I have been searching online to find a way to to change the line type scale for an entire layer and have that change be reflected on the lines already housed on that layer. EX: I have a Hidden lines layer that i am using and want to enlarge the scale of the lines.

I am able to change the scale in the properties manager for new lines but it does not reflect on the existing. Is there a method of do i do that manually ?

Hi,

You cannot assign linetype scale to individual Layer, linetype scale acts globally for all Layers in the drawing.
In each drawing you have Global scale factor, which you can set in "Linetype manager" window (menu Format -> Linetype)
But you can:
- change linetype scale for each object individually by selecting object and changing "Linetype scale" property in the Properties palette. Actually the resulting scale will be the Global scale factor multiplied by the "Linetype scale" object property in the Properties palette.
- or change Current object scale in "Linetype manager" window -menu Format -> Linetype. The same result will be if you change "Linetype scale" in the Properties palette when no object selected. From this point all objects created in the drawing will be created with new linetype scale, the resulting scale will be the Global scale factor multiplied by the "Linetype scale" object property in the Properties palette (or Current object scale in "Linetype manager" window).

For objects already created in the drawing you always can change linetype scale by selecting them in the drawing and changing "Linetype scale" in the Properties palette for them.

So, for example, if you need to change linetype scale for all objects in particular Layer, you can select them (using Quick Select) and change "Linetype scale" in the Properties palette for them (that is multiplying factor for Global scale).

@maxim_k I do not know what i did there but it seems i have accepted my own reply to your answer as the solutions. How can i fix this to have it so that it is your answer and not my reply that gets accepted !
