Thank you very much! Actually i found out that i was uploading a dwg with three windows in working mode, maybe that was why it coul not read it.. Now it is getting better but still the different settings are not that easy to apply.. I tried the harbour and it looks quite funny but originally i was not aiming for that ^^.. So if i want just a basic background do i have to put a wall in the back in my dwg or is there any other preset that i can choose which is not an image but just a monochrome wall in a colour that i choose?

Hey there! I unfortunately downloaded the 2018 version for students, so i have to render in the cloud. When i upload my project and render it it either shows a black image or a blue one without any graphic information... Did i do a mistake? Does it maybe show another arey of the project and not the one my drawing is in? Are there settings that i can work on?
And another question: If i would register for the 2017 version is it possible to import my drawing and render it without the cloud?

I am thankful for any answer and info i can get!

Welcome to Autodesk Forums!

Hi Luisa,
>>>>>When i upload my project and render it it either shows a black image or a blue one without any graphic information.
Did you place lights to illuminate the scene in your drawing?
If no - have you tried to adjust rendering options? Environment, Exposure,,,

You can also attach your drawing, I'll look at it.

>>>>If i would register for the 2017 version is it possible to import my drawing and render it without the cloud?

No, 2016 version was the last which could render offline.

If you want it to be rendered without background, you have to set Environment option to Native, then you will get something like this:

later, when you open rendering project in browser, you can adjust exposure interactively:

Ok so a monochrome background like in the attachment "my aim" would not be possible during rendering?

And i have two more questions: If i would download the student version for 2017, would it be possible to render without cloud? would i have the possibilities to render any size and also video? Because with the cloud i see that my actions are counted in render points and there is a limit to it.
Thank you very much for your answers and help!

>>>>monochrome background like in the attachment "my aim" would not be possible during rendering?
Looks like - no. According to Cloud Rendering help:
"Background overrides (solid/gradient/image, sun/sky) are not supported."

BTW, you can browse Cloud rendering online Help here:
http://help.autodesk.com/view/ARENDERING/ENU/
You can also ask your questions and discuss Cloud Rendering here:
https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/rendering-forum/bd-p/2060

>>>>: If i would download the student version for 2017, would it be possible to render without cloud?
As I wrote in my first response: No, 2016 version was the last which could render offline.

@Anonymous

I have found a way to add custom background to rendering, created in Cloud.

If you are using Native environment option and get black background, you can download image in PNG or TIFF format with Transparent background option:

Then you can add custom background in raster image editing application.
