Text - Making text plot bolder

I'm currently using the CityBlueprint text, and I've tried to change the properties so that the text plots bolder, but I've had no luck. I even manually selected the text box, highlighted the text, and changed the format of the text to be bold, but it doesn't print out bold. What am I not seeing? Thank you.

CityBlueprint is a very skinny TTF font that even when BOLD in other programs is still skinny by most standards, perhaps that is your issue?

If not, share your DWG file here, lets all touch your file for ourselves.

I'm still a bit confused, it seems that it should be a simple solution, regardless of the text style used

1. It can be regardless of the textSTYLE, but not of the FONT.

2. As pendean wrote: It is a TTF Font, right?

You can't controle it by lineweight,

Only by the FONT STYLE and the available font styles is a question of what font styles are installed (or included to this Font, however you like to see it)

And as Pendean already wrote, a BOLD style should be available but for this style also the bold one is thin.

Go to Paperspace, create a MTEXT with 2 lines (with the same word in each line) and select one line, set the text to [B]old.

Can you see a difference?

If yes: This is was is available for this Font.

3. Another thing are SHX Fonts!

For SHX Fonts you can use the LINEWEIGHT of the (M)TEXT object to make it "Bold".

Nothing to do with AutoCAD(the TTF Bold question), it is the same in other programs.

What's confusing exactly? You opted for what most of us would consider an unfortunate font for CAD use, that's all.

Find better fonts to use.

Thanks for the responses.

Below is the text style I've created as shown in the Text Style dialog box.

Below is a sample of two MTEXT. The bottom one I double clicked in the text box and changed the formatting to bold, as you can see it didn't make a difference.

So, what I get from this thus far, from what I've seen and the responses, is that with this Font I can't control its boldness.

Is there another font that is similar to this that I can't change the boldness of? Like a SHX file that CADffm mentioned?

Works fine here for me in AutoCAD 2020 through 2022

BOLD here an option for you?

We stay away from odd fonts like those in our drawings. But you can seek out options on the web https://www.google.com/search?q=fonts+similar+to+cityblueprint

No I don't see a bold option as shown below.

That is how it looks for me as well on the layout screen, but when I plot it out it doesn't appear like that but instead how I showed earlier.

I appreciate the information and advice you have shared. I will try to figure it out for more.
