Create a Sheet Index that links to layout tabs

I am trying to create a Sheet Index for my General Specifications page, and I want to link the sheets that show up in that Index to the Paper space Layout Tabs that are being used. Is there anyway to do this? I would like to avoid using the sheet set manager and creating a field from that manager. I cannot find a field that lists the layout tabs without using the sheet set manager.

Any help is appreciated.

SSM is the only automated built-in tool to do that in LT. Sorry.

Is there any reason you are not using SSM yet? It is literally designed for us that have many layouts in a project to manage like that.

It would make sense for me if I used a ton more sheets. We only use up to 6 or 7 sheets at a time.

There is this option for FIELD in LT, see if that helps with creating some sort of circular FIELD of a FIELD or something complex like that (guessing, never tried it, SSM is what we use) https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Displaying-and-plotting-the-layout-name-automatically.html

And SSM can be used for 2+layout projects just as easily as 1000+layouts: if you want the FIELD + Sheet-list Table automation you asked for in your first post, that's how it is accessed in AutoCAD/LT. Here are two easy to follow tutorials if you need them:
