Activity Insights in AutoCAD LT 2025 unable to retrieve Version History from SharePoint/OneDrive Sync'd drives

Activity Insights (Drawing History) are not working properly in AutoCAD LT 2025 and work correctly in AutoCAD LT 2024 on the same machine/same drawings. The issue appears to be related to SharePoint synced shares not being able to report drawing version history in 2025 while it works correctly in 2024. The 2024 version shows the full history across all users as expected, and the 2025 version spins the blue circle a while then simply says "No Activity Insights available."

Technical support had me reset the settings which didn't do anything other than force me to re-log in to the OneDrive account. Has anyone had this issue?

Well that's a bummer... I guess I use 2024 whenever I need to check history? Does Autodesk typically come back around to stuff like this or is this likely just not going to work going forward? I put in a ticket early last year and the tech said it was a "known issue" with 2025 they should have a fix for "soon," but it sounds like I shouldn't hold my breath...

What? As the original post states, Drawing History works correctly in LT 2024 on SharePoint shares but appears to have been broken or rewritten in an incompatible way for LT 2025's Activity Insights. I would say LT 2025 Activity Insights are much less user-friendly than 2024's Drawing History since the latter works and the former doesn't.

In the upper right hand corner there's an Options drop down and at the very bottom there's a Printer Friendly Page selection which presents the page like the way the forum used to look. But afterwards I don't see the Options drop down menu to go back...The only way to go back is to click the Back arrow button on the browser.

Yes, they eventually fix new features (or totally abandon them). But you only reporting the issue once a long time ago is not going to cut it: report it often and frequently, get others to do that same often and frequently too. One lone notification from one lone user back in the past is not how it works, never has.

I opened a new ticket last week and "support" just told me to post about it here. I'll keep bugging them and opening tickets until someone actually talks to me about this from Autodesk again. Thanks.

Thank you for the explanation. I was trying to reply in the main topic to keep it on topic, but I understand how the notification flows are working now. I'll keep bugging Autodesk support to see if I can get them to review in more detail.

So the latest after working with someone in support is that it's a "known issue" with SharePoint shares and they are working on it and will get back to me "soon." In the meantime, I will just have to use 2024 to check drawing history and run any compares.

I can confirm the same issue exists for 2026 while 2024 still works correctly. I'm stuck checking version history in 2024 for now. I'll call and bug them again, but I'm guessing they want to push me to their paid storage/collaboration space instead...

To close this out, Autodesk has determined this is a feature and not a bug, and they support their own paid storage, as I expected, with no information on third party storage that might be supported...but I can disable Activity Insights so I won't be bothered by that pesky lack of drawing history anymore...

"Our internal team has confirmed that this behavior is due to a change in how the software accesses files. Starting with the 2025 release, AutoCAD LT moved from using the OneDrive API to our internal FileProvider API to provide a more consistent experience across platforms. Unfortunately, this new API does not support retrieving drawing history for files stored on SharePoint, which is why the version history is no longer visible.

We completely understand that this is a change from the experience in 2023 and 2024, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. At this time, this behavior is considered “as-designed,” and there are no current plans to bring back SharePoint drawing history in Activity Insights for these versions.

As a workaround, if Activity Insights is causing issues or isn’t needed, it can be disabled by setting the system variable ACTIVITYINSIGHTSSUPPORT to 0.

About your question on which storage providers are compatible with Activity Insights drawing history using the new internal FileProvider API in AutoCAD LT 2025 and 2026, there isn’t a specific list available at the moment. However, since Autodesk has shifted to using this internal API, it seems that Autodesk’s own cloud storage options, like Autodesk Docs and Autodesk Construction Cloud, are likely the ones fully supported.
