<description>Officially, it doesn't "stand for" anything. LT is simply Autodesk's
designation for this scaled-down version of AutoCAD. Differences? Other than
the $3000 difference in price, what you'll find missing are many of the
customization options (LISP, ARX, VBA), modeling with 3D solids, and a
number of other features.

LT stands for Lap Top. A lot of people think it stands for 'Lite' but
that is not true.

The difference between LT and the full version of AutoCAD is that LT
does not include 3d functions and does not support Lisp.

That was a new one for me.

&amp;gt; A lot of people think it stands for 'Lite' but
&amp;gt; that is not true.
In sweden it used to be a called "Learning &amp;amp; Training".
My favourite is "Less Trouble"

As far as I know LT doesn't mean anything.

<description>Of course, I can't find any documentation now, but my recollection is also
that LT originally stood for LapTop. I reviewed the first version of LT for
CAD Systems (it was contemporaneous with Release 12 for Windows) and I had
some documentation from the 'desk at the time.

<description>This is true. However, according to "The Autodesk File", there once was an
internal concept called "AutoCAD Lite". With similar specifications!
