Recent upgrade from 2007 to 2016. Where in 2007 i would click apply to layout and the paperspace would be as per the print, ie not colours but black lines.

Currently any existing drawing i have opened shows the line style as the colours like model space. I know i can go to the layout tab, right click and navigate to tick the box to show display plot styles. This is fine but i was looking for an automatic approach like i had before on 2007 where i would just 'apply to layout'.

Thanks for any advice.

"Apply to Layout" simply saves the settings in the PLOT dialog to the layout.

You still need to check on Display Plot Styles in the page setup.
You can turn this on in your template(s) and it will be On in layouts in drawings that are started from these template(s).
