What I would try is to click on the block once then on the ribbon it should change and give you a couple options. !. edit block in place or the other is block edit in block editor. try either one and see if you are getting the same issue,

read only blocks

I am new to using AutoCAD LT 2017. When I create a block, or when I have tried to open existing blocks in a drawing that someone else created, or a block from the AutoCAD tool pallet, it doesn't matter which, I get the response:

BLOCKEDITOR = 0 (read only)

I have checked the BLOCKEDITLOCK and made sure it is set to 0. I also tried WBLOCK, which I am not familiar with but it didn't seem to do anything.

Does anyone know how I can change this? I'm assuming it's a setting somewhere, I'm just not sure where...
