Changing UCS in viewport keeps changing UCS in model as well.

To rotate my drawing in viewport I have used UCS and PLAN commands. I change it back in model to world. Whenever I click in viewport to modify something or just by clicking it changes the model to viewport UCS again. How do I rotate the viewport so it wont change the model UCS all the time?

You have to manage the UCSFOLLOW variable and give it a 0 value...

Think about having a look at the UCSVP variable too. It gonna make (or not) the other viewports following your UCSs changes.

Last but not least, UCSORTHO got to be at 0 if you don't want the UCS to change every time you request an orthographic view.

Thank you for answering. I tried all your suggestions but unfortunately whenever I still click in layout viewport it changes model UCS. I have to keep going back and forth and change model space UCS to world all the time still.

Be aware that UCSFOLLOW is to be set once you are in the viewport.
Same for UCSVP.

But doing this also rotates the model and I dont know how to stop that from happening. I have already seen all the youtube videos and the links you posted. They offer different solutions I dont want to use right now. Using UCS for rotating would be most optimal for my work. Also I have AutoCad LT so I cannot use MVSETUP/DVIEW/ALIGN SPACE commands.

To Rotate a View by Changing the UCS using typed commands to minimize distractions from pretty icons on the Ribbon:

1) turn on UCSICON.

2) Double-click within the unlocked viewport whose objects you want to rotate.

3) Make sure that the current UCS is parallel to the plane of rotation (the UCS icon should look normal).

3) Start UCS command, type Z, then type 45 (45 degree angle for this excercise).

4) Start PLAN command, choose CURRENT UCS.

5) The entire view rotates within the viewport. You may need to specify the scale of the viewport again. You may now LOCK the viewport. Modelspace stays the same if you already had UCS set to WORLD over there. UCSFOLLOW is always off here.

Yes, well this is exactly what I did before. I will attach pictures of the output of your drawing. Maybe you have different result so that might be a clue how to help me. The X and Y axis still change the location in model space after this sequence of commands, but I need them to stay in WCS.

Im sorry maybe I am not explaining myself well enough I haven't worked with Autocad before. I dont understand what I am doing wrong here. I used to use the same sequence of commands in ZWCad and I'm just trying to do it in Autocad the same way.

It's hard changing software. Share a video of you in action doing this in my file to get the results you do, lets observe them together.

And when i go back to model the UCS is not world anymore.

From the top, I still beleive that UCSVP is the guilty variable.

In your model space, it must be set to 0 instead of one.

Did yu really check it ?

I contacted support. Apparently it is a know issue that the Autodesk developers are aware of and currently the only workaround is to set the Model UCS back to World, and then set Plan to World.
