Edit open file list

How can the list of recently opened files that is presented at the beginning of a session be edited to remove files that are no longer relevant to the current activities?

Hi,

Use the command "STARTUP" and set it in "3" then restart the AutoCAD. Hope this will help.

Sir,

Thank you for responding to my request for help/understanding. Unfortunately your note does not give me enough information to effect a change. I have "opened" individual files and entered the "startup" command ... all show that the default value is already set to "3" .. but in any case it seems to me that this activity comes AFTER the point of my request. When I start LT15 the very first screen displays a list of recently opened files (some of which have been deleted or moved to "customer folders" and are not accessible from the list. The list therefore is not valid .. I would like to remove those files that are no longer necessary from the "recent" list .. it would seem logical to "right click" on the file, have a drop down menu open, and then "click" on "delete" .. but that doesn't work .. so the screen is cluttered with a lot of unnecessary file names .. can anything be dome to remove those files? Thanks in advance

You are correct that is not a feature in the initial Start up page. That's a great idea that I'd recommend you leave at the Product Feedback page for future releases here, http://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback.

For your current situation I believe there are a workarounds that might help. Do the drawings continue to show up on the recent documents list even after your user's are opening new files? Are they by any chanced pinned?

To add you could try this work around,

Set these options to 0 (temporarily and change them back to the desired number)
Close AutoCAD
Clear AutoCAD docs in the TEMP folder. (AKN article to reference)
1. Exit all programs.
2. On the keyboard, hold down the WINDOWS key and then hit R.
3. In the Run window, type %TEMP% and then click OK.
4. Delete the contents of the folder that opens up.
Open AutoCAD > Set File Open and Application menu back to desired number.
Restart AutoCAD, the recent list should be cleared.

Thank you for the follow up inquiry. None of the suggestions have solved the problem however I need to mention that at least on of the suggestions was too complicated (it involved removing "temp" files) and so I didn't try it. Additionally I tried to send the problem to Autodesk for a future enhancement to the program and was frustrated by the fact that the "feedback" link that I used was broken.
