Linework looks poor on secondary laptop Monitor

Hi all,

I would appreciate your help.

I have a new laptop, details are below.

Laptop Screen is a 4k monitor and on it the autocad looks brilliant.

Secondary screen is a HP elitedisplay E240 running on 1920x1080 connected via HDMI and on it many of the lines dissappear and look hidden.

I can drag the autocad window between the two displays to make it go from brilliant to crappy.

I assume there is a display setting somewhere that needs to be tweaked. Maybe it is trying to run Autocad LT 2018 in UHD, then display it on a HD monitor. ALthough I did try dropping the resolution down on the laptop to 1980x1080 as well and this did not seem to help,

Turn off LINESMOOTHING and LINEFADING and see if that helps your lower res monitor.

IMHO both of your screens should be running matching display settings.

Thanks for the ideas, I have tried these but it hasn't made a difference.

I tried plugging in a different monitor from another computer that displays very crisply and this monitor in my laptop was displaying the lines very choppy still. There must be a setting hiding in their somewhere.

At the moment I have the resolution on the laptop screen set to FHD instead of 4k to match the external display and this has solved a lot of the problems.

I think its something to do with the screen scaling.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Hi @brendon,

It appears that you have dual graphics cards on your computer. If you go into GRAPHICSCONFIG, can you verify which card is being used in AutoCAD? Can you attach a screen capture of this window to a post?
