Have been using AutoCAD LT 2012 for a number of years with no problem running under a Windows 8.1 operating system (have not upgraded to 10 because it caused too many problems on my HP Envy ....tried it and then reverted back to 8.1). I only use AutoCAD LT for around 6-10 small projects/year. This summer I had to download the 2017/18 AutoCAD DWG viewer/file converter and have had problems with the ribbon ever since.

Basic gist of the problem is that program completely crashes and closes as soon as I left or right click on any menu or ribbon commands. The program will load an existing file or a new file with no problem and pan/zoom interface as well as shorthand commands from command line work with no problem. I can also run the program in CLASSIC Workspace with no problem but whenever I shift back to the normal drafting workspace with the Ribbon it will then again completely crash and exit the program as soon as I click on the ribbon.

I have tried repairing the program with the original disk, removing the DWG file converter program, and a complete uninstall and reinstall of AutoCAD LT both from the disk and from Windows program uninstall option from the control panel. I have also reinstalled both service packs 1 and 2 with the reinstalls. No matter what, it seems that the ribbon crashes still occur. I suspect that something has changed in the initial program loading/setup instructions or registry settings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

RD

Not quite sure if this is what you are looking for….but are you looking for .net files that appear to have recent date stamps that a search of the computer reveals?
