Do you just need to change the one pen in your monochrome plot style table to remain 'red'? That way red will always print red when you use that plot style table.

In autocad LT, how do I set the color of the dimensions to always be red even thought the line drawings are black? In my old regular full version of autocad, all I had to do was select the "STONE-GRAIN1" color when I dimension things and it always printed out dimensions in red.

I'm not an advanced user by any means. I'm doing simple 2D cabinet shop drawings.

Thanks,

Ed.

Dallas, Texas

DIMSTYLE command is where you set your dimension settings in each file you work in (there is no universal setting), just like you did in your "old regular autocad". The concepts are no different at all.

Thanks Pendean,

I got into the DIMSTYLE command and changed all the color preferences to red and now all my dimensions show up on screen as red. But they still print out in black and white. If I change the plot style to "none" rather than "monochrome" I get the red dimension lines, but also I get in color whatever color lines my drawings may be made up from. Not sure how I was able to print black and white drawings with red dimensions in the full CAD program. As I said, all I had to do was select "STONE-GRAIN1" as the color for the dimension lines and they just printed out red. I stumbled on that by accident.

Got any ideas as to what's going on here?

Thanks,

Ed.

That sounds like that would be perfect. How do I do that?

Sorry for being a quasi-novice. I run a custom cabinet shop - I'm tech challenged.

Ed.

Start PLOT command

Select the monochrome plot style table.

Click on the edit button.

FInd your chosen "red", and change the color assignment.

See below, I assumed pen #1 is the red you want to change, if you selected something else go to that pen instead.

AutoCAD should ask you if you want to make the change permanent, answer yes if you want that.
