Hi community,

I have just recently installed Autocad LT2018

I am trying to attach an external reference (a survey dwg) to my dwg file and when I say ok I receive the message

Command: _attach
Attach Xref "7902-DET-01.09.17": ..\Design Jobs\RINGSTAD_Brett\SURVEY\7902-DET-01.09.17.dwg
"7902-DET-01.09.17.dwg" cannot be found.
*Invalid*

I can open the survey drawing on it's own.

I have searched the forum, I have audited the surveyors dwg, I have renamed the surveyors dwg, I have saved the surveyors dwg as an older version but nothing has helped me as yet..

I really don't know what else to try.

Can anyone help please

Hi Arjay,

Yes, do you want both my dwg and survey dwg?

Here is survey dwg because I cannot insert it in another of my dwgs i tried.

Oops! Can you please saved it in a lower version probably 2013 version.

I just followed your the steps above and it gets no error.

I don't understand why the file cannot be found based on your process.

Thanks for your help Arjay,

After seeing you attach it with no problems, I have I have started a whole new drawing and inserted it fine!! So there must of been an error in my original drawing.
