Align - To Evenly Space Linework or Objects

I would like to know how I can align and evenly space between objects?

Lets say I want these chairs to align top and have the same space in between (see Picture attached).

I found this link yesterday that told me to: Click Home tab Modify panel -> Align drop-Down -> Space Evenly

But i do not have the 'Align drop-down' menu. Or I can't find it. I'm working in AutoCAD LT 2018.

I really hope that someone can help me out 🙂 That would make my day!

I haven't looked at the image, but you can do it two ways

First delete all the objects EXCEPT the first one, then

1. Use the ARRAY command. This will create a group of objects which are spaced at whatever space you want. If you want individual objects you then need to EXPLODE the array or

2. Use the COPY command. Select the object. Choose your starting base point. Make sure ORTHO is on by pressing F8. Press A for ARRAY. Tell it how many items you want and the spacing between the items. This will all be individual objects

That is probably only available in something like Autocad civil. Definitely, not an option in LT, the array command mentioned above would probably be the best method. Or you could use point filters to move any existing objects to line up with something else but that only works one for one and would require two points for each object, once you have figured out how point filters work they can be really helpful.

With existing content already in place, set SNAP and GRID to start and be spaced the way you want, grab your blocks by their insertion points, then "bump" move them into place.

Or do-over as suggested above with Array, or DIVIDE or Measure commands with the block option after you draw a line where you want them aligned.

I also have LT 2018 version. The best way I learned to align blocks is by using the divide tool. I put my block at my start point (first block in the row) and then the last point (last block in the row). I draw a line from the center of the first block to the last block. Command: divide > Select line > enter # of segments > # > enter. Click the line you drew and delete. You will now see 5 'dots' where the line was. I copy the blocks and match the center of the block to the dot. It can be time consuming, but it is the best way I know how to evenly space objects in LT between two points.

What if I am trying to have equal spacing between objects that are not the same size. For example, I have a slat fence but the slats vary in dimension, I want to keep the spacing between slats consistent. Anyone have any ideas?

I am clueless on how it should be done. Array works for on item. I have plenty of square blocks separated by a gap of 10mm. I need to separate by an additional 50mm

Yes I have been doing this exercise BUT, what if I don't know the amount of space I want in between the objects? I mean for example, I have drawn a rectangle and I want 4 lines in the rectangle to be spaced out evenly? This would be for drawing 'cabinets' in a kitchen or shelves, or custom sofa with custom cushions. LMK! Thank you so much.

AutoCADLT cannot do the calculations or design for you sadly beyond the few tools like DIVIDE or MEASURE, have you tried these?

Or the previously mentioned ARRAY or COPY with SNAP/GRID on or some combination of both. There is no "fill this space with objects" command.

How would you like to proceed?
