Reselecting workspace does not "regenerate" it

Hi there,

We are working on version 2016 LT and 2018 LT custom menus (additional Tabs inserted in stock cuix).

In the 2013 LT version we have created a Workspace and when users messed up with toolbars or switch off Properties, we advise them to simply click again in the Workspace name and it "regenerated" it.

This seems not to function anymore... at least on 2016 LT

Was this suppressed (like switching between names and icons in the status bar) ?

How to solve that ? create a second (empty) Workspace to allow the switch ?

Because this looks like working...

Without testing your description:

Command: WSSETTINGS
then verify that "Automatically save workspace changes" is DEselected in the dialog.

Q: are you sure the workspace in LT2016 actually loads different settings and changes anything? That would be the other reason why it's not working.

@cadffm yes, the option is "deselected"

@pendean yes or it should... it's supposed to load a toolbar in the middle of the screen that user close. The (previous) click on the Workspace as I said "regenerated" the workspace and thus this toolbar reappeared... the effect of "regeneration" is (was) visible, like a flick of the screen...

Did the user "close" the toolbar at some point?
Was it ever open when the workspace was saved?
Is the toolbar off-screen?

Have you tried to remove and reload the add-on menus, recreate a new Workspace, and test it thoroughly again? At some point dump-and-redo is the prudent solution.

Now a defined two a simple workspaces for testing

Command: _PROPERTIESCLOSE
Command: _-WSSAVE
Arbeitsbereich speichern unter <propon>: propoff

Arbeitsbereich speichern unter <propoff>: propon

Now I can switch PropertiesPalette on/off by current Workspace.

If that not working on your machine it looks like a problem, but i am not sure which.

Have you writeaccess to your main.cuix and the workspace-setting work like the option [Automatically save workspace changes]?

Test:

Close properties palette,

create new workspace1 with wssave,

create new workspace2 with wssave

Open properties palette,

a) Set workspace1 current: closed the propertiespalette or not?

b) Set workspace2 current: Is the propertiespalette closed or opend?

With 2016, if you close Properties and Layer control palettes that were docked and the left, clicking the Workspace won't bring them back 😞

As I said, 2013 clearly repositioned all !

@cadffm in the meantime, we create a "toto" workspace and then, when we switch from one to the other it "regenerate" all.

When there's only 1 Workspace, nothing happens 😞

Sorry guys, I forgot to specify that we are working with an Enterprise cuix.

And I think it's important as we discover that, despites all those fixed settings, 2016 LT saves things locally and even changes the Registry.

I explain: we have made, after customization, an export of AutoCAD registry to our server, create a .bat that copies cuix, aws and execute the .reg.

So the environment is the same for all our engineers.

Than, a click on the Workspace (bottom right) does nothing.

BUT if you go to the top menu, Tools, Workspace and click, you got some kind of default Workspace, all previous settings are gone 😞

Any ideas ?

It might be your registry edit that is breaking it all since this is not an issue in LT2018 or your previous LT2013 setups.

Time for a new batch of registry edits specific only to LT2016 seats perhaps.

Is this toolbar floating in the middle from the Enterprise CUIx file?
Or is it part of the add-on CUIx files?

The floating toolbar is part of the enterprise cuix

Fyi a colleague read that the "non-regeneration" of Workspace from the bottom right access is a bug in 2016 LT...

So we have decide to keep it like that and work on the migration from 2016 to 2018.
