Can't Save To Drive

AutoCAD LT 2018 has been working perfectly until this morning. Opened same 2D drawing I've been working and now I can't save to anywhere on the C drive (can save to an external drive). Just discovered that any DWG file can't be saved to C drive. I can, however, save to an external drive.

When I go to save I get the error box, "You do not have permission to save to this location. Contact your administrator to obtain permission".

Have checked all my user permissions and I have full permissions. I'm also setup as administrator.

The computer is not tied to a network.

Drawing is not Read Only.

If I try to print using DWG To PDF.pc3 to the C drive I get the error box saying "Invalid File. Please verify the correct path was given".

No Microsoft program is exhibiting this problem.

Very frustrating. Thoughts?

Windows OS is what?
Exactly where are you trying to save your file? And have you tried any other folder (or just your desktop)?

Have you shut down and restarted your PC yet? Do it first.

Thanks. Had previously tried those tips but to no avail.

If I start in Safe Mode AutoCAD saves with no problems. So. how to find the
conflict?

Thoughts?

Ah, good to know: Windows Safe Mode kills all your background running apps: sounds like you have a conflicting software interfering with AutoCAD. Aggressive Anti-Virus setting perhaps.

Thanks. The only anti-virus I have running is Windows Defender.

However Windows did an update yesterday at 2:10pm, Windows Module Installer.

When I tried to do a system restore it rebooted with the message, "System
Restore could not access a file. This is probably because an anti-virus
program is running on the computer. Temporarily disable your anti-virus
program and retry System Restore. An unspecified error occurred during
System Restore. (0x80070005)"

Windows Defender was completely disabled when I tried the System restore 3
times.
