Dear Autodesk team,

I'll try my best to stay polite, although I'm absolutely furious right now.

May I ask which brilliant mind decided that the new BLOCKREPLACE command (in Czech: BHLEDAT, now also found in the "Blocks" panel) should forcibly limit the new block to the bounding box of the old one?

Why does it now automatically rescale the new block just to fit some ridiculous blue frame around the old one?

I'm trying to replace an outdated railing with a new, larger block with a different name, and AutoCAD LT 2026 just scales it down without asking, ruining everything.

This command worked perfectly in older versions. I switched from a perpetual license of AutoCAD 2017 to a subscription, expecting improvements – not this kind of destructive behavior.

Why is it that every new version changes things that used to work, and the "improved" version just makes them worse?

Is there any way to turn this off? Or do I seriously have to open every block in the Block Editor and resize it manually like it’s my second day using AutoCAD?

Why? Why?!

Please don’t take this personally, but this new "feature" completely wrecked my drawing and cost me 10 hours of work. Thank you so much.

Is there any workaround or fix for this?

jsem tak vytočený, že se budu celou svou bytostí snažit abych psal slušně....

Mohu se zeptat kterou chytrou hlavu napadlo u příkazu BLOCKREPLACE (v češtině BHLEDAT) nově je to i v panelu bloky, udělat rozhraní které limituje velikost toho nového bloku na starý?

Takže když chci vyměnit posraný zábrádlí za větší novým blokem s novým názvem tak mi ten vkládaný blok zmenší měřítkem tak aby se vešlo do nějakýho posranýho modrýho rámečku????

Proč to dřív fungovalo bez problémů, přešel jsem na průběžnou licenci z AUTOCADU 2017, a teď si někdo řekl, že to udělat takhle je super nápad????!!!!!

Proč se furt musí něco měnit aby to nové řešení nefungovalo????

Jde to nějak vyřešit? Nebo prostě musím v novém výkresu měnit blok "natvrdo" v editoru, jak jelito co kreslí druhý den?

Proč? Proč?

Neberte si to osobně, ale rozjebal sem si touhle novou debilitou celý výkres a 10 hodin práce v prdeli!!! Díky moc fakt!

Dá se to nějak obejít nebo vyřešit?

No one here is Autodesk @f_pesula , if you want Autodesk Support, please open a ticket inside your Autodesk Accounts log-in page.

If you want us end-users (aka customers just like you to help).... BLOCKREPLACE command does not exist in LT2026. Do you mean something else? Like BSEARCH command or...? Screenshots of where you are using it might help us follow along too.

Not enough information otherwise to follow along either. Can you share actual DWG files and both the replacement and original blocks (ideally in their own DWG files) so we can see and do what you are experiencing?

Hi,

this is not the com.and you used in 2017, it is not Blockreplace.

LT Version don't have Blockreplace.

The BSEARCH is to replace Geometry (block or not) with

a new created block, or with an existing one.

If you like to have a blockreplace function, search for a 3rd party tool (lisp tool)

or use -INSERT command (read the help[F1])

Thank you for reply. If BLOCKREPLACE does not exist i LT version, its very important information to me, thank you again.

So i must work without it, like was years before.

I send you my DWG's.

We revitalize old apartments buildings so BLOCKREPLACE was very vital function for me because i was used to create separate block for example windows with OLD tag and NEW tag.

I was meant to create library of OLD/NEW blocks to speed up future projects. We use two separate DWG's for OLD/NEW states of revitalization.

I upload my old DWG's where you will fully comprehend what i mean.

I will use old practise to edit blocks directly, and try to figure out how to automate it in the future.

I add screenshot too, where old balcony railing is (green) was supposed to be tranfered to NEW state which is 400mm wider but it is limited to OLD smaller frame...

In Czech version i use command BHLEDAT which is czech equivalent of BSEARCH i suppose.

Hi, thank you for your help. I used AUTOCAD 2017, not LT, there was BLOCKREPLACE, now i downgraded to LT thanks to pricing (i don't use 3D).

BSEARCH is not so easy to use as BLOCKREPLACE, because you are limited by old block geometry range so if you trying to replace old block with bigger one, new block then have downscaled ratio to fit into old block area.

This creating mess in models, because ratio mess with insertion point.

I try to get some 3rd party tools and get used to use them 😃

But i thing it will be easiest wat to get used to 3rd party tools. Thanks. 😃

Ok so you’ve been using the Express Tools command Blockreplace. Since AutoCAD LT does not support Express Tools that’s another limitation for the lower price subscription. Have you tried the new builtin BReplace command (came out in 2024) which again LT does not have but perhaps it provides different features compared to BlockRepkace?

There are multiple options for replacing blocks or block references. Some depend on LISP but LISP is supported in the latest versions of AutoCAD LT, so you may be covered even in LT. See:
