Hi

I am using AutoCAD 2019LT

I am looking at drawing up a site drainage plan and to my surprise there are no surface / foul waste linetypes and they have to be custom made. So I created the code in notepad and now I cant find the autocad folder where all the linetypes reside. I am starting to think it is not possible in LT version, am I correct? Also it is not clear if the notepad txt file should retain its.txt extension or if this should be renamed to .ln?

I have never created a custom linetype before and all info on the web including Autodesks help & nothing answers the above questions.

Thanks

1. The extension is ".lin"

2. You can load linetype from whereever you want

     command LINETYPE

Standard *.lin are stored in

"C:\\Users\\<user>\\appdata\\roaming\\autodesk\\<autocad version>\<release>\\<language>\\support\\

Thanks Betreff

I can see the location through AutoCAD's LINTYPE command by clicking the File... in the Load Reload Linetypes Dialog box and it is exactly how you explained but if I go through windows explorer the App Data folder is missing.

I know this is old.. but I stumbled across it looking for the same thing.

Finally found it, but yes it's in the support folder under %AppData% and user

"C:\\Users\<user>\appdata\roaming\autodesk\<autocad version>\<release>\<language>\support\

As for viewing hidden folders on WINDOWS.

You do need Admin privileges I believe, but nowadays, in "File explorer" you click the 3 dots button ... , click OPTIONS (not properties), click the "View" tab at the top of the "Folder Options" window, go to the list under "Advanced Settings", find the option "Hidden files and folders" and click the radio button underneath that says "Show hidden files, folders, and drives".

If you have Admin privileges, you should be good to go!
