Hi

I would like to ask a question, which I did not find an answer.

As we are driving AutoCAD LT at the company, and it is not up to me to decide, whether we will use Revit or Autocad, I have a following question:

Is there a way to draw a wall the same way as it is possible in Revit planview, with the difference, that it should be only in 2D ?

To make my question clearer: I would like to draw a light steel wall which f. ex. consists of (line, line, batting line, line, line) see attachment "wall". And I would like to draw it at once in the necessary direction and I require the corners to be joined nicely. ( nicely means that there will be no overlapping but line will join its line - see attachment "wall 2")

AutoCAD and LT are general use cad drafting programs, they are meant for everyone but no one specific, so these programs don;t know a wall from a pipe from a duct from semi-conductor circuit.

in LT you can explore using DLINE command: all it does is draw two parallel lines, it has some cleanup and end-capabilities: usage is explained in HELP.

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you're posting for the first time. Welcome to the Autodesk Community, and thank you for posting your question here in the AutoCAD LT forum.

I'm just checking in to see if you need more help with this. Did the information that @pendean provided answer your question?

What you are asking for might be possible, but only with a good bit of customization. You might try asking the users in the Visual LISP, AutoLISP and General Customization forum if they have done anything similar. The closest out of the box feature I can think of is the wall segment tool in AutoCAD Architecture, but it doesn't have the same properties as the walls in Revit.

If any post in this thread answers your question or solves your issue, please click Accept as Solution so others in the community can find it easily.
