&lt;P&gt;As&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/71745"&gt;@cadffm&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;indicated in his post, this type of conversion can be done quite easily even if&amp;nbsp; you don't have the current version of AutoCAD.&amp;nbsp; You can also elect to download a Trial version of current product to perform such a task.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I found that this drawing had MEP objects that did not want to save backward (not backward compatible) so from AutoCAD MEP I ran a AECtoACAD.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The resulting file still indicates that there are MEP, Civil 3D, and Architectrectural Desktop objects but the file does open OK in 2016.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
