Question about drawing in CAD without an internet connection

I am traveling this weekend and won't have an internet connection on my laptop. In setting up for the trip I made sure to transfer files and make sure my system was up to date but was confronted with an opening screen that required me to have an internet connection in order to use AutoCAD.

Is it now a requirement that you have to have an internet connection in order to draw in AutoCAD? Please advise on working without an internet connection.

this was not hidden by Autodesk the software does require internet every so often for license verfication under the new licensing model

Hi @tor3B3UK

It depends on how long you will be travelling for without internet connection. You don’t need to be online to use AutoCAD. The software runs on your computer, not on the web. You do, however, need to connect to the Internet every 30 days, so we can keep your software up-to-date and verify that your subscription is still current. An Internet connection is needed initially to install and activate your software.

If you have any system restore -type software (e.g. DeepFreeze), or a high level of security, it may prevent the system from keeping the settings which indicate it has been activated.

You might want to also check that you're not automatically signing in to the A360 cloud tool.
