Rotate View in Model Space

I am wondering how to rotate the model space view in AutoCAD LT. In full CAD, you simply use the rotate button on the viewcube to turn the whole drawing.

We construct our elevations in a "pinwheel" around the plan, so rotating the view makes it significantly easier to work on each elevation.

Only asking about model space, NOT paper space or viewports.

Modelspace, paper space viewports - all the same.

For example: Set you UCS and change the current view to the current (or saved by name) view.

Command: UCS Z 45

Command: PLAN current

Trying your command as posted doesn't actually rotate what I see on my screen, it just turns the UCS and my cursor. Ideally, I don't want to adjust the UCS, just rotate my view of the screen.

I can't believe, except your view was already rotated.

Set another UCS, rotate around Z axis with angle 60 or whatever you like

Command : PLAN<enter><enter>

Tht's what you did by command UCS

After that, you can set your UCS back (Command: UCS previous) It just a "helper" for this sample way.

My first way and the next one are simple AutoCAD basics,

i don't wan't to teach all possibilities of that software, just showing ONE possible way.

Note: You can save your own created views by command VIEW (uncheck the UCS option)

I prefer the following method to the question, should this help someone else.

* First, turn on UCSFOLLOW (1)
* In command line (I'm old-school) : type UCS
* Select your base point, followed by an object in the X direction, then an object in the Y direction. The view rotates.
* Should you wish to save this created view, simply type: VIEW
* Select "New" button on right side of dialog box
* Give the view a name in the dialog box, then select the current display or click the radio button to define your view limits/window and click "Ok"
* When finished, type UCS, then W (for "World") to return your view back to the original view. If at any point you need/want to see that view again, simply type "View" and select the view you wish to see and it will rotate to that orientation.

It's actually more easy nowadays. If you select the UCS you can move it, rotate it and set it back to world, just by selecting one of the grips

Be in model space
On the command line, enter command UCS.
Enter "<" followed by the angle you disire to rotate, like 45
Enter the angle "<45".
Enter PLAN and select "Current UCS".
The whole modelspace will rotate

If you alreday have a line draw in the angle you want to rotate (so it will be aligned) You can use it as a guide to set the axis instead of following step 3 and 4.

Make sure in your UCS settings (View->Coordinates (expanded menu)), "Update view to Plan when UCS is changed" is checked

I know this is an old thread with a solution already posted, but I simply hold down shift and click the mouse wheel to rotate views. Hope this helps make things easier!
