Hello,

I have a drawing with multiple XREFs. This drawing is very heavy to work with, and regeneration takes a long time. Is it possible to create a crop (smaller area wich i work in) of these multiple XREF layers at once, or does it need to be done per XREF?

Thx

I don't use xrefs in my drawing, but since you can only work on one at a time why don't you unload the ones you're not working with and then when you need to work on them reload them?

If you create a new dwg and xref different drawings in and then save this as a dwg calling it multiple xrefs.dwg. Then you can xref this multiple xrefs.dwg into the dwg you are working on and then xclip it just once.

RECOVERALL command used on the top file will also recover all the XREFs, then after ensuring you QSAVEd after that, use PURGE command to remove excesses then -PURGE command (there is a dash in the name) to remove hidden content like REGAPPS.

Read about the entire process here

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Optimizing-the-AutoCAD-drawing-file-Purge-Audit-Recover.html#:~:text=Optimizing%20drawing%20files%20in%20AutoCAD%20with%20Purge%2C%20Audit%20%26%20Recover

Unfortunately you won't be able to totally speed up the plot. However have you got the item ringed in the image below ticked? If you have untick, that might give a little speed boost
