Hi

I am used to inserting a block from adad R14 version i.e insert tab - block and once selected gave me the option of altering the x-y dimensions before inserting.

I am now using 2020 with the new block pallet.

When I highlight a block and untick the insertion scale box or even the angle box for that matter and inputting my x -y dimensions the block still insert as original size.

I can alter the block once inserted using the properties command but will not work on the new block pallet.

I have tried all various options on the insertion section without success.

What am i doing wrong/

Thanks

I believe what you mean is that in older versions when inserting a block you could chose to insert & scale the block at the same time.

The "Recent Block..." palettes dialog window offers the "Scale" option but does not function in this same way. Please verify that this is what you are referring too.
Thank you both for the responses.
I have tried everything as suggested before posting on the forum.
To be clear, if I have a shower tray block at 1000mm square , highlight it and don’t put a scale in the insertion box below, when I drag it on to the drawing I get exactly that 1000mm x 1000mm.
Once in the drawing I can then right click and alter any side by means of the option panel which works so I could make it 1500mm x 1000mm.

If I highlight the tray on the pallet then input 1.5 in the x panel and leave the y alone, then drag onto the drawing I still only get 1000 x 1000. In other words the insertion option does not work.
Ken

If you can attach a drawing with this block, just click on the paperclip icon below the area where you type your replies "Attachments" and then find the file in the file explorer that opens. A screenshot of the insert dialogue would help as well, the same dialogue I showed in post 3 above. You do have to set the scale in that dialogue before you insert a block, with the new insert you don't get the option to scale whilst you are actually inserting the block, if you want that then use 'classicinsert'.

Hi,

Hopefully i have attached a small drw with the block.

It seems to be whatever I input in the scale tabs makes no difference, seems rather pointless having the insertion box underneath. Nothing such as rotational angle etc works ticked or not ticked.

I know the block (for instance the shower tray) is drawn full size at 1m square .

If i want to change it to 800mm x 1400mm i have to insert and then right click on properties and alter it from there.

I would have thought i could have done that by using the insertion tabs.

ken

Great to hear you got it working, sometimes it is just a small difference in how you use the command, (click or drag), but I have to say both methods work for me. Though it could also be whether you enter a new scale value in one of the boxes and physically press enter to confirm the change, before starting to place the block. Still nice to hear it is working as advertised😁
