Files will not open or save from the File drop down menu

Opening files and saving files from the files drop down menu no longer works. Files will open from Windows Explorer by highlighting the file, right clicking and selecting open, they can then be saved.

When opening form the file menu, the system hangs as if looking for the file and pressing escape brings up 'not responding' and options 'close the file' or wait for a response.

Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix

Which version are you using and is it updated to the latest, use the 'about' command? I haven't seen any problems in any version so far.

Which version of Windows? but yes 2012 was designed for Windows XP which died off long ago, Windows 7 was retired last year and no longer receives updates, so if you are getting Windows updates I can only guess you are using Windows 10 and Autocad LT 2012 was never designed to work on that operating system (that's not to say it won't work) but any Windows updates could very well be the "straw that broke the camels back", at some point you will find problems. You could try rolling back the latest Windows update, but be aware also that later this year Autocad 2012 LT will also be retired and if a Windows update causes the Activation to fail then your AutoCAD will be permanently lost, as older versions will no longer be activated.

What changed with your PC over the weekend? Looks like you stopped using a second monitor or resized your display settings on the one screen to a lower res to see teeny tiny text?
