(Apologies if already posted. I searched and didn't find the exact answer I was looking for.)

When using Autocad for multiple remote users (Autocad LT 2021), if you add an FTP location for a remote server, once a file is "Opened" does it appear to be locked as "read-only" for other users as typical use with multiple users for an office server when on the network? I see it as a benefit if with multiple users accessing a given file they do not risk overwriting each other with simultaneous open files and losing data.

I am aware of cloud options with BIM360, Dropbox, OneDrive and other integrations into remote storage, but have found the setups imperfect exactly because overwriting and multiple copies have only been improved with "version history" plug-ins or minor addons that do not solve the remote working for groups fully streamlined. Revit performs much better for remote team use and read/write permissions but looking to confirm if the native file open/FTP for Autocad LT will reserve the file in use on the server so access is limited to 1 user per file while in use.

Thank you,

-Matthew

I could be wrong but I don't think working on files on an FTP is using it for something other than it's designed purpose, transferring files.
