In addition to other replies above...

1) You have too many osnaps running is your primary issue, many actually conflict with one another. Uou have to zoom in to resolve the conflict as you have experienced, OR you need to drop the less frequent Osnaps you use then type them only when needed. I suggest you set OSMODE to 123 or 1147 (do that then look to see which osnaps are turned on). In 20+years of my use of the program I've never had any other osnaps running and those cover 90% of my daily needs.

2) You are missing the LT0222.1 update, it won't change much here with your issue, but you might as well be current.

HTH

As you can see in the picture, the perpendicular snap only shows when the cursor is on THAT specific spot. If I move my cursor, I lose the grip. So I need to zoom in zoom out move my cursor slowly till I find the blind spot for my snaps. Which is different blind spots for each snap I need.

Here it is an example.

Picture 1 should grip the perpendicular snap. But I have to find the "blind spot" zooming in, zooming out, move around until I find THE spot to grip my perpendicular line. (Then I found as shown in picture 2). I guess there is a messed set up that makes it happens. Any guess?

I'm curious was not expecting your attempt there.

Which of any of these items are blocks? Is this in AutoCAD ARCHITECTURE and those are ACA objects?

What other Onsnaps are running?

- I was drawing just an example of what happens. It doesn't matter if I am editing a block, or model/paper space. As you can see these other pictures, it is the AutoCAD behavior no matter what/where the lines are being drawn.

- Yes, it is AutoCAD LT 2022. I just downloaded the 2022 version because I had the same problem on the 2021, I though that it would solve the problem, but it didn't.

- Please see the other picture with the settings I am in.

Thanks!!

Why is apparent intersection running? It can mess with things too.

And... if you Toggle off DYNMODE as a test (F12 button), does your issue go away?

>>>...I just downloaded the 2022 version because I had the same problem on the 2021, I though that it would solve the problem, but it didn't....<<<
Why would that fix anything: did you try a different DWG file? A new/empty DWG file with a few lines drawing, only PERP running as an osnap, what happens?

And I have to ask: are you unable to address the SYSTEM VARIABLE CHANGES pop-up for a reason? It appears you have varialbe to fix in each of your files, fix them sooner rather that later.

TIA

- The apparent intersection was me drawling a random line just two show the difference between the 2 pictures: when I put the cursor on the perpendicular intersection I need, it doesn't grip, the picture 2 I search for the "blind spot" to snap it.

- F12 doesn't solve it.

- I am having this problem with all the dwg files, including new ones. I thought it could be an installation error, that's why I wanted to install again to make sure I was installing right, and I got another version just to be up to date.

- To be honest, I always ignored the System Variable Changes boxes, never knew what was that for.

Can you take the time and post a video of you in action showing us the problem? Use this freeware from Autodesk, ensure you turn on keyboard action recording as well https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/simplecontent/content/download-autodesk-screencast.html

For the other, if you have no desire to use that variable-settings control tool then just turn it off: screen clutter is a drafter's worst enemy (keep in mind it exists to help you help yourself control which of your desirable variable settings are on or off as you jump between DWG files)

Thanks for the second video: yes, PERP is working as intended as long as you remember PERP is a destination osnap and not a starting osnap.

Does your ABOUT command show you running LT2022.1 version?

So no we need to figure out what the interference is that is making it hesitate until you zoom in. I think you have too many different OSNAP selections turned on, many will kick in ahead of PERP if you are zoomed out too far, they will find others that are close etc.

To confirm, as a test only, leave PERP as the only running Osnap and turn DYNMODE back on (3 for me) as well as POLAR and see if you can repeat the issue you had much earlier.

Sorry for the long video.

I open the ABOUT in the video, and also I turn on/off the POLAR and DYNMODE.

It is funny that when I change this things, such as the F11 on/off, no matter what it is, it seems to work at first but as soon as I use them, the problem comes out again.

Leave F11 alone. That's toggling a different but related function, OSnap Tracking. Your only confusing the issue.

I think part of your problem is that running OSnaps require you to be proximal to the destination point. That's why when you zoom in Autocad can pinpoint the desired OSnap. The zone used by AutoCAD isn't "seeing" the multiple possibilities that you have running.

HTH
