Thanks for the pointer, I think I've changed my units from mm to m unit the Units command, strangely I didn't need to change the scale of my design which I was expecting to have to do.

I've also stumbled through and think I've setup several layouts ready to print onto A4, A3 & A1 sheets with the correct scale but since I don't have an A3 or A1 printer it would be handy if you wouldn't mind checking to makde sure I've done it correctly - new file atached.

I've been using Autocad Lt for a good year or so stumbling through the steps to generally produce what I'm after but being forced to ensure my scales are correct has been a real lesson..

The scale you point out has also been corrected on the various paper sizes.

Hello

It's safe to say - I need help and online tutorials don't seem to be working..

I submitted some plans and received the following response:

The existing and proposed site plans do not have a scale annotated on the plans –
please amend and ensure the plans are provided to scale and with the scale annotated on the
plans.

I've given this a good go but can't seem to get my head around things.

When in model mode (scale set to 1:1) if I measure between 2 points at 10m apart the measurement shows 10m.

Moving into paper mode I've set the paper to A1 and scale to 1:200 and my design fits nicely.

Now when I measure between 2 points 10m apart the measuement shows 50 but the distance then shows 10000 which I assume is the 50 x scale factor of 1:200.

How can I correct these issues so dimensions are consistent?

Also, I've got a scale bar along the bottom of my design, how do I ensure that remains correct with the given paper size etc?

Thanks in advance

Ahh, I'm making progress.I scaled my model down which now means the measurement in design is consistent with the actual measurement.

What I don't understand now is that the 10m measurement would say 10m on various paper sizes. How do I go about stating a scale on the sheet which relates to real world scale when printed and measured?

It would make drafting way easier, your type of industry does that for maps and mapping.

You also have this conflict in your paperspace: why not customize your scalelist to better reflect your exact need? save on that math calculating time
