Thank you Rob! I will try again!

Also, here is another thing I am struggling with...

I need to draw the outline frame and title box, such like attached picture. (please ignore the blue grid lines on background)

I draw the outline frame 1or2 inches inner the limit drawing area on model space, and when I plot to

1/4"=1' scale the line on the left is not shown, and there are a lot of space around, that does not like the attached picture.

On top of that, I am using student version and there is a message on all corner "this is produced by student... "

How could I make the floor plan with outline frame and title box like the attached picture..?

I would appreciate if you could give an advice.

Thank you,

Your plot settings in AutoCAD are correct. The problem is probably the settings while printing the PDF. Check the fit to paper option.

You have a few questions here soooo let's begin:

1. Draw the objects in model space

2. Setup a Proper Layout environment, eg set up the size and add the title block border

Let's Go 🙂

In model space (click on the model space tab):

-Draw the room outline

-Add the door

-Fill the walls

>>Draw the Room area with a line, outer lines only

>>offset the outer walls inward the thickness of the partitions, in the US .625 (sheetrock + 3.625 or 3.5" studs + .625 sheetrock)

Add the doors

Add the funky closet 🙂

Add the windows

>>You can either create blocks with wipeouts as the doors and windows or (wipeouts cover objects below them) Or you can add doors and windows and trim the partitions.

- add a shaded fill to space between you inner and outer wall surfaces, use a 252 or 253 fill, hatch solid

OK Now for the Layout / Border

Alright, pay attention 🙂

From the menu bar select the output menu

setup your print/plot properties to your drawing layouts, set up the output to PDF or plotter as you see fit

Make sure you apply a name to the plot configuration, say ANSI D, meaning assign an ANSI D part to the layout

Once you get the plot configuration setup it is best if you double click it in the layout manager to assign it to the selected layout, you will know you have it set up when the plot configuration appears next to a layout in the layout manager.

OK now that you have proper layout setup, draw your border or Copy and paste a border block to you layout

Edit the border attributes as required, aka sheet name, drawing number, etc, etc

-Add a viewport to the layout, typically just inside the borderlines

--Set the Viewport scale to fit your border / desired output view

>> select the viewport, single mouse click, set scale via lower right of status bar VP scale setting

-Plot to PDF when you are ready

There you go, a Basic outline of what u need to do.

Best Regards

Tim C.
