topic Rectangle line width in AutoCAD Forum

Hi there, relative newbie, when I draw a rectangle the line width is huge. This happens regardless of layer but doesn't happen with any other shape. Where can I set this value globally rather than having to set via the properties panel every time I draw one please? Where do I find default parameters for rectangles? Thanks!

Hi,

After executing the RECTANGLE command press "W" or click on width from the command line to set the width of the rectangle. Set it to "0". Now click to start drawing a rectangle. You will be able to see the current width set for the rectangle in the command history as shown in the snapshot below where the width is 5".
