Received drawing with SLINE proxy entities, need to modify lines on drawing

I am working on AUTOCAD 2020

So I received a P&ID drawing from a contractor that is drawn with P&ID objects. They are unable to be exploded or manipulated as I need them to be. I tried EXPORTTOAUTOCAD and nothing changed. I've tried editing it as a .dwx file and that didn't work. I detached the xref file in the drawing and that didn't work. I downloaded the Plant 3D object enabler and that allowed me to view object snap points but I am still unable to explode the SLINE objects, so that didn't work. I am at a loss at how to work on this drawing. Is it even possible without the Plant 3D program and/or having the contractor EXPORTTOAUTCAD on their end?

Why has Autodesk made it so difficult to modify these objects across programs? Thank you for any suggestions that you may have

My problem was resolved. I had a co-worker with full AutoCAD suite download Plant 3D and use CONVERTOAUTOCAD to make a new AutoCAD file.
