Hatch is not allowing to add a fill and only selects lines when editing

I am trying to edit the fill of a hatch. It is only allowing me to select individual lines, and I can not add a fill. I was successfully able to fill all other hatches in the image. How can I add a fill or correct the hatch without deleting anything?

Are you trying to edit a polygon (or a defined area made up of lines) that will be hatched? Or, are you trying to edit an exisitng hatch boundary?

Can you attach the drawing?

My goal is to make the hatch with the selected lines filled out in green like the hatch on the left. I can not get a background fill option. I did not make the original drawing, I am only editing it.

You should be able to select the boundary of that (looks to be exploded) cross hatch. it can be on polygon or multiple lines. Make sure your hatch is not going behind the image.

So when you type "bhatch" your ribbon is not showing up with all the options?

The simple thing to do is create a solid fill in the desired boundary. You can not change those lines used to cross hatch that area - into a fill. They are no longer a hatch.

BHATCH

"select the boundary" (can be multiple lines or one polygon) also have the pick point option.

"use SOLID"

You can't HATCH in AutoCAD by only selecting the lines inside the boundary alone:

Maybe you should just select the outline around those angled lines only to hatch.

I am not getting a ribbon, instead I am prompted to pick an internal point or [Select objects Undo Settings]:. this is what I am getting when I click inside the hatch. I do apologize I am very new with autoCAD, and kind of forced into taking it over so I am probably missing something simple.

Select the outer boundary.

as shown in attached. can be one polygon or multiple lines. but select all of the boundary.

your boundary must be pline, one entity to able to hatch or select all the boundary lines to hatch or share your files here so we can show it to you on how to do it. thanks

Invoke that Select objects option, then pick the outline object(s).
