Hello

I do not know why dimensions are changing in some areas of my drawing. if I match property it would fix it but if I save and close the drawing the next time that I open drawing it is wrong again.

check the attached image.

Are they associative dims? Known bug, don't use associative dims in a layout.

Sadly, this is just a limitation of (associative) dimensioning in paper space. Sometimes dims will attach to points of other dims instead of objects in model space, and read 1:1 instead of matching VP scale, and sometimes they will read totally irrelevant values. Sometimes matchprop will fix it for good, other times not. You can move the "correct" dims out of the way, delete and re-apply the misbehaving one, then move the "good" ones back into place. This usually fixes the issue for me. @GrantsPirate is correct in that associative dims sometimes just don't work well in pspace. I consider the occasional glitch to be worth the time saved in stretching/moving/reapplying dims when mspace objects change. You just have to be aware of the possibility of things going haywire at seemingly random times.

To see if a dimension is associative, select it and look at the properties -see attachments of properties window.

To make any new dims associative (or not) check or uncheck that option in "Options"- see attachment

To disassociate a dimension, use command dimdisassociate (or move the dimension, then move it back-this will break the association)

To re-associate a dimension use command dimreassociate, then follow the prompts

Hope this helps.

Very simple fix.

Steps:

1) set viewport scale correctly in layout "Floor Plan" (it was close, but not exact).

2) lock viewport to prevent any scale or view changes

3) select all dimensions and move them away from the viewport

4) set dimension scale for all to 24 (for 1/2" scale)

5) move them all back to their original starting point and re-attach them to the correct points using grip-edits (they moved slightly off the correct points when correcting the VP scale)

repeat steps for remaining 2 layouts, the only exception being the VP scale was already correct, only had to lock the vp, and correct dimscale was 32 for 3/8" scale.

All dimensions are no longer associative. Took 5~10 minutes total for all 3 layouts. (took longer to type this message, I am a SLOW typist...)

Let us know if they change again when you look at them (if they do, you may have other issues....), or if you need further "tips"

Hope this helps...
