Grey box around object and unable to edit

I received a .dwg file form a customer that had been converted from CADWorx Plant. I can open the file easily. When I click on an object such as the pipe shown in the picture it does not allow me to edit or move the piece. Any ways around this?

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

Thank you for the screen shot. Without the DWG file, its a little hard to tell exactly what is happening, but generally speaking, third party objects are brought in as Proxy objects, to edit these objects, the original application may be required, see below for more information.

About Custom Objects and Proxy Objects | AutoCAD

You could try to do an EXPORTTOAUTOCAD which will convert all the objects, that AutoCAD is able to do so with, to AutoCAD recognized format.

It is a proxy entity GROUP. I was able to UNGROUP it then EXPLODE one of the items into lines and circles. May take a few explodes to get it done. Or Explode them all.
