I've been uploading PDF files to AutoCAD for my class' project. And this one specific PDF file was different when I uploaded it, it looked like the original PDF, when normally the files become the same color as the background in Autocad, and it had this weird grid block on top of the image. And when I export it into PDF, the grid block becomes part of the drawing, and you can see it on top of the image. I only want the image. Can anyone help?

Hi @Anonymous

From the screenshot, it looks like the PDF is just a scanned photocopy. That's why when imported it doesn't convert to AutoCAD elements.

I am able to see those gridlines faintly in the screenshot. Is this grid lines made up of polylines? If yes then try to delete them so that the grid is no more part of the drawing.

If this doesn't solve your problem then please upload the drawing so that we can check and help you out🙂

Hi @Anonymous

Actually the pdf is made of multiple boxes of images. So when the PDF is imported it shows up as a grid.

See the attachment drawing and the grid is no more visible.

When importing the PDF I unchecked all the options from setting except "raster images" & "import as block" and the grid vanished.

as i told you previously .. those gridlines are original part from your pdf . if you don't need those gridlines you have to get a clean pdf copy file .

I tried that already, and it is still showing up as a grid. It is definitely the PDF, I don't think I can do anything about it because the PDF was provided by my professor. And I am still yet to get a response from him.

Yes I understand that they're part of the PDF, but our professor gave us that PDF and I am not sure how to get rid of the gridlines on Acrobat Reader without deleting the actual image.

If you can explain the procedure I can let know where you are going wrong.

Let me explain how I am doing it.

firstly type in the command "PDFIMPORT" and import the PDF with the option of "raster image" enabled. Once imported type in the command "FRAME" and set it to "0"

Now the frame of the objects (such as images, map images, underlays, clipped xrefs, and wipeout) would not be visible🙂

See the attachment.
