topic Change command without deselecting objects in AutoCAD Forum

Sometimes we spend a lot of time selecting a group o objects and then by mistake give the wrong command. As a result, the selection is lost.

How can we keep our selection and just insert another command? Is there a setting that would keep the objects selected unless e.g. Esc is pressed?

Hi,

Even after deselecting, you can select back the same objects by using the "previous" option. Here is how you can do that.

Type in the new command after deselection like "MOVE" now press "P" and enter which would select the previous selection. There are many option like "Window/Last/Crossing/BOX/ALL/Fence/WPolygon/CPolygon/Group/Add/Remove/Multiple/Previous/Undo/AUto/SIngle/SUbobject/Object"

You can just type in the Bold letters highlighted above after the command to create different selections🙂
