Looked this up but no solution on the forum. My command line has been increasing in length for the past week and now it is too long (stretches across the whole length of the screen) and there seems to be no way to drag it shorter.

I can adjust it up to include more command lines but no 'drag' symbol shows up to shorten it. Also, how do I do a screencast to send you an image? I attached a Snip .jpg, hope you can see that.

Thanks

Hi,

>> I can adjust it up to include more command lines but no 'drag' symbol shows up to shorten it.

You can change the position and display of the command window to suit the way you work. also you can resize the command window vertically by dragging the splitter bar, which is located on the top or the bottom edge of the window. Resize the window horizontally by dragging the right or left edge. you have to know that command window can be :

Docking the Command Window : A docked command window is the same width as the application window. It is displayed in a fixed location above or below the drawing area .

Anchoring the Command Window : An anchored command window adheres to the top or bottom of the drawing area.

Floating the Command Window : If the command window is not docked or anchored, it is floating.

In your case i think that you have a docked command window . so you can nor resize ( short ) it .

click on below image to see how it' work .

I think the problem is with the UI locked. Unknowingly you might have clicked on the "LOCK user interface" from the status bar and it's locked all the UI from being modified. You can turn off the lock by again click on the status bar or by typing in the command "LOCKUI" and setting it to "0" 🙂

This is what worked for me when the Command Line became too long widthwise and I could not see the left or right edges of it.

I followed the steps and then next to Allow Docking I changed it to "Yes." I was a little wary of this because the previous selection was "do not change."

Now the Command Line is back to being centered at the bottom edge.

Thank you!!! (this was driving me nuts!)

I just ran into this problem, but after a while I figured out the solution. Here is a more descriptive step-by-step walkthrough of the fix:

If the Command line is too long and goes off screen:

Enter CUI to go to the Customize User Interface window.

Look in 'Customize All Files' pane on the 'Customize' Tab to find the item 'Drafting & Annotation Default' nested under the 'Workspaces' item. Click on this to see it's contents in the 'Workspace Contents' Pane.

In the 'Workspace Contents' pane expand the 'Palettes' item to find the 'Command Line' item. Click on it to see it's properties in the 'properties' pane.

In the 'Properties' Pane look under the 'Appearance' Section to find the parameter called "Allow Docking". Change this property to something different.

Hit the 'Apply' button at the bottom of the CUI Window.

Change the 'Allow Docking' property back to the value "Do not change"

Hit the 'Apply' button at the bottom of the CUI Window, then hit 'Ok' to close the window.
