topic How do I insert an image without external reference that remains editable? in AutoCAD Forum

Hello,

I know that I can convert an image to an OLE object in order to be visible without the external references. The problem with the OLE object is that it can be edited only for scaling and rotation. What I need is to create a clipping boundary at an image that will not have external references.

I am working on a partner's dwg file where there are images that have been clipped. Because of that I can have the right part and scale of the image only in AutoCAD, which is why I cannot edit the image in another application.

So, how can I have an editable attached image without having external references at the same time?

I'm not sure if this is a practical solution for you or if it would support the editing you seek but you could define a material that uses the image and then apply the material to a plane object. This would require you to set the visualstyle to realistic to see or print it.

I am impressed, that's quite an imagination! It worked, so thank you for that!
