Making an arc using polyline command

I've given two screenshot from autocad.

Step1. select polyline command

Step2. go to arc option

Step3. make an arc

Now,my main questions : 1. On what basis angle subtended by an arc or

it's radius is decided ??

2. In this arc formation how can a chord

length and it's angle with X-axis decides radius of arc or angle subtended by it ??

Arc option while PLINE is active begins creating arc segments tangent to the previous segment. there is another options ( Angle/CEnter/Direction ) for more precision . I suggest to check this AKN article that may help . >> Click <<

To be more precise, it uses the direction of the end of the last directional object drawn, including the last segment in the current Polyline if there was one. If you go into Arc mode immediately, after only giving it the initial start point, so there's no direction established in the Polyline yet, its default tangential direction is the direction that the last drawn object "aimed" at the end. In your image, the last directional object may have been a Line drawn vertically upward, so the Polyline arc starting direction is 90°.

The angle is stored [in radians] in the LASTANGLE System Variable. If there has not been any directional object drawn yet, that angle is 0.

[And don't forget the Radius option in Arc mode, and the Second-point option, in which you can define a Polyline arc segment with three points just as you can an Arc, but you've already given it the first one.]

The user must "feed" AutoCAD with the whished inforations chord length, chord direction and arc radius while drawing the arc(segment).

Assuming an arc with chord 100 in direction 45° and arc radius of 80, follow >>this example<<.
