Spline Ghost Grips

Switching between vertex methods (fit and control-vertices) may result in tugging from invisible grips that only appear when switching back.

This issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

Draw a spline (fit)

Switch to "control vertices"

Switch back to "fit"

Add a vertex

The auto-generated control vertices turn into "ghost grips" that are not so easily removed. Is there a technique for repairing splines like this? Thanks.

In step #2 are you editing a CV (eg., location or weight) before you go to add a fit point?

CVs are an intgeral component of spline data. You can hide them but they will always affect the shape of a spline. They will alays "tug" on the spline.

When creating a spline with Fit points, AutoCAD automatically determines the location and number of CVs needed to produce a spline that passes through the fit points.

Use the Properties panel to easily see, hide or edit CVs.
