Hi @Anonymous

You can create a circular surface using the PLANESURF command. Draw a circle and then use this command to create a circular surface.

The rectangle that you are talking about on the surface is isoline. You can eliminate them by selecting the surface and open the properties palette(ctrl+1) and make the U & V isolines to "0" 🙂

How do you create a surface of circular shape? I know it sounds very simple but I tried drawing a circle and then do it with planar surface button but it didnt work. That button creates only rectanbular surface.. Or I tried revolving a line around z axis, it didnt work. I tried extruding a circle to cylinder and to may be extract a circular surface out of it, but i cannot do it.

How can I create a surface of circular shape in simplest way?

And if I wanted to obtain it from the cylinder solid how to do it?
