Hi all,

I'm looking to use a formula in autocad table to caluculate a value, i need to use sin and pi values, can these be expresses in a table in paper space on a template?

can you do what you want in EXCEL for example?

Hi ,

So, the formula below works in excel, the "SIN" & "PI" are values(in excel), the table below shows that by entering the vales in the green cells gives the required results,

=(B39/C39)/SIN((90-D39)*PI()/180)

I found this on CAD forum but now sure how to implement it or if it's event he answer I'm looking for....?

Hi again,

apologies, first time on here,

So, the formula below works in excel, the "SIN" & "PI" are values(in excel), the table below shows that by entering the vales in the green cells gives the required results,

=(B39/C39)/SIN((90-D39)*PI()/180)

Load weight = B39

number of lift points = C39

sling angle = D39

the formula is in the sling tension cell has the formula, "*PI()/180)" this converts radians to degrees in excel, is this required in cad if this works or can i just get away with needing the SIN value?

that works great just how i want it to in your table, i have already set up a table but the formula is done vertically, still cant get it to work, am i missing something,

I noticed while playing around with your template that changing the formatting of the cell value does have an influence on the calculated value. So conversion might be necessary, but it looks in working order to me.

In your original drawing you missed one cell designation (C2 should be B3)
