Thanks for your reply. I was afraid of that. I do load a CUIX file because working remote seems to be causing issues in AutoCAD and when I relaunch it instantly saves a new CUIX. I have been using a backup that I created so I can get back to the settings quickly and I must have updated that backup with a corrupted version at some point without notice thus getting the error on both office and home office computer. I was afraid that I would have to restore AutoCAD to default as this requires our IT to get involved and it becomes more labour . But I guess I have no other choice.

I am using Autocad 2021 My quick properties shows "No defined quick properties. click to customize" but when I do I get the error "Unable to open customization file:" and it's looking for pdfic and pdfmacad uix. It gives me the the option to find and relaod by typing CUILOAD. however I do not have those files in any folders. This is causing my Autocad to loose CUI settings and the quick properties also resets show the above message. I am experiencing the same issue on another computer running Autocad 2019. Where can I create these files to see if by doing so it stops my CUI from going crazy.

Hi @fosorio,

I am sorry to hear this is happening. I have seen this warning most often when the custom user interface (CUIX) is damaged. Though it commonly affects the ribbon at start up, it also can affect any feature that relies on the CUIX.

The following Autodesk Knowledge Network article provides some suggestions:

"Unable to open customization file" and ribbon not loading in AutoCAD

If the settings were migrated, transferred, or imported, they may be damaged, a reset to defaults usually resolves this.

To mark a solution that answered the question or resolved the issue, click the Accept Solution button.

Likes are always welcome.

All the best,
